Read the units on your notice
If the notice says “width” and “height” in pixels, enter those numbers in the corresponding FormPixo fields. Pixels describe the actual image grid. Check the result panel to confirm both dimensions after preparation.
Centimetres describe physical print size. Converting centimetres to pixels needs a DPI or PPI value. A notice that gives only centimetres without resolution does not provide enough information to calculate one exact pixel size. Do not insert a guessed DPI; ask the issuing authority or use an official clarification.
Understand the image shape
A square target and a wide original have different aspect ratios. Choosing Keep entire image fits the whole original inside the output and may add blank space. Choosing Crop to fill fills the requested frame but removes content from an edge. A third option, stretching, can distort a face and is usually a poor choice for a portrait.
After cropping, inspect the forehead, chin, ears, and shoulders. The mathematical dimensions can be correct even when the framing is unsuitable for the application.
What if the notice gives only one dimension?
When you enter only a width or only a height, FormPixo scales the other dimension proportionally. It does not invent a second size. That is useful when a notice sets just one side, but it will not create an exact two-sided target unless you enter both values.
If a portal requires an exact width and height, use both pixel fields, then decide whether preserving the entire image or cropping is allowed under the photo instructions.
Check the downloaded file
- Confirm that the notice uses pixels rather than centimetres.
- Enter its exact pixel values in the workspace.
- Choose the fit mode and prepare the file.
- Check the output result for actual width × height, then open the downloaded image to examine the face and background.
- Attach the new download in the portal instead of an older file.
If dimensions are correct and rejection continues, examine the format and KB range. The portal may be testing several requirements under one generic error message.
Other checks that may help
A correct dimension readout does not confirm a portal will accept the file. Check its other stated limits.
