FILE SIZE / TROUBLESHOOTING

The portal still says your photo is too large.

You reduced the image and the portal rejected it again. Check the downloaded file first. A small-looking preview does not tell you how many bytes the file contains.

Open the image workspace

Start with the file you downloaded

Open the file saved by FormPixo, not the original in your gallery. Check its name and size in your device's file details. In the FormPixo result panel, read the measured size and dimensions after preparation. If you see an error rather than a download link, the tool could not satisfy the limits you entered.

Before changing compression again, check that the portal received that exact downloaded file. A browser may keep an earlier selection after you return to the upload step. Remove the attachment, choose the newly prepared file, and check its filename.

KB can mean different byte counts

FormPixo calculates one displayed KB as 1,024 bytes. Some portals treat KB as 1,000 bytes or round sizes differently. A file close to the maximum can appear inside one limit and outside the other.

For example, if a notice says “maximum 100 KB,” do not treat the number as a universal byte standard. The portal's own validator decides. Try producing a file comfortably below the maximum while keeping the face clear. The 100 KB figure is only an illustration, not a requirement for any application.

Check the minimum as well as the maximum

Some notices specify a range, not merely a maximum. If the portal requires a minimum size too, aggressive compression may produce a file below it. Enter both values in the FormPixo workspace when your notice supplies both. Leave a field blank when the official instructions do not provide it.

JPEG encoding has practical limits. Detailed photographs can become blurry before reaching an extremely small target. FormPixo should report an impossible range rather than claim a passing file. Do not keep lowering quality until your face is unreadable.

Retry with a controlled change

  1. Read the current official notice for format, size range, and dimensions.
  2. In the photo workspace, choose the original photo and select the allowed output format.
  3. Enter the notice's maximum, and minimum if specified. Add pixels only if required.
  4. Prepare the photo, then check the result's measured KB, pixels and face quality.
  5. Download it, remove any previously selected portal attachment and select this new file.

If the portal still rejects a visibly valid file, note the exact error and check whether it has additional conditions such as a live-camera step. Ask the application authority about a contradictory validator rather than guessing new dimensions.

Other checks that may help

If the file fits the stated size but the portal flags its shape, read the dimensions guide.

Application requirements: This independent tool checks the limits you enter and cannot guarantee acceptance. Use the current official notice. A required live-camera step must be completed on the application portal.
