Check the original before adjusting anything
Look at the first and last letters, dots, and light pen strokes in the original image. If the camera has already blurred those marks, resizing cannot restore them. Place the paper in even light, avoid shadows across the ink and take another sharp photograph or scan if necessary.
Leave enough blank paper around the whole signature so a crop does not clip the opening or final stroke. Your portal may specify how the signature should sit in the image; follow that notice.
Keep cleanup off until you need it
FormPixo offers optional signature paper and ink cleanup. It is off by default. When enabled, it changes image pixels to lighten the paper and adjust dark ink. Very light handwriting can fade or break apart during this process.
First prepare the signature with cleanup turned off. Examine the output at a useful zoom level. Try cleanup only if the paper background makes the mark difficult to read, and compare both outputs with the original before saving. A cleaner background is not proof of better acceptance.
Choose a format your form accepts
PNG can retain crisp boundaries around dark writing on a plain background, though the resulting file may be larger. JPEG is widely used and can meet smaller size limits, but strong compression may blur or break fine lines. WebP is also available in FormPixo; choose it only if the current portal instructions allow it.
Changing the format alone does not guarantee readable ink. The original image, target dimensions and file-size limits all affect the final result.
Prepare and compare
- Choose Signature in the workspace.
- Select a clear photo or scan that contains every stroke.
- Enter only the size, format and pixel limits shown in the current notice.
- Prepare with cleanup off. Compare the displayed result with the original.
- If needed, enable cleanup, prepare again and inspect fine strokes before downloading.
If neither version remains readable at the required dimensions, capture a sharper original. Do not fabricate, redraw or digitally reconstruct missing signature strokes.

If the signature looks clear but the portal still rejects it, check the true format and upload requirements.
